About Fred
Fred Jungbluth has spent his life working with trees. As an internationally certified arborist and passionate woodworker, he blends scientific understanding with artistic instinct.
Inspired by the legacy of woodworkers like Sam Maloof and James Krenov, Fred brings his own philosophy to each project: the wood takes center stage. The goal isn’t to force a design—but to reveal what the tree already wants to be.
Fred lives and works in Midcoast Maine, serving homeowners, designers, and anyone who values the character of handcrafted, meaningful furniture.
A Life in Trees
Before opening the studio, Fred spent decades caring for trees as an Internationally Certified Arborist. His deep knowledge of tree biology, structure, and species behavior gives him a rare perspective on the wood he works with today.
Many of the materials Fred uses are reclaimed from local trees he once knew standing—removed for safety, salvaged after storms, or passed along by homeowners wanting to honor a beloved shade tree. That continuity, from living tree to a generational piece, is what makes his work both personal and powerful.
